Data Protection Workshops

On the second day of the 6th Annual Data Protection Practical Compliance Conference, Friday 11th November 2011, delegates have the opportunity to choose two of four practical half-day Workshops covering important aspects of data protection practice.

  - Data protection workshops held at annual Data Protection Conference, Dublin Ireland -   Each Workshop covers an in-depth analysis of a specific issue of data protection compliance, and will give the delegates opportunities to ask questions and discover how issues are dealt with at other organisations.

These Workshops can be booked separately or in conjunction with the Conference. Attendance at the Workshops by Conference delegates is optional but it is anticipated that most Conference delegates will wish to attend one or more of the Workshops.    Lunch will be provided at the venue starting at 12.45pm.

Morning Sessions ( 10.00 – 12.45 ):

Data protection policies are a vital tool for compliance but they can become long, quickly outdated and difficult for employees to understand.  Using real examples, this session looks at how to create policies, the need to keep them simple and the need for regular review.  This Workshop looks at:

  • What should the policies and procedures cover?
  • Are specific IT policies required?
  • Should your organisation have an email usage policy?
  • Why is there a need to review and update policies?
  • How should policies be communicated across the organisation for most effective data protection compliance?

This Workshop covers:

  • Security vulnerabilities with removable and portable media, including laptops, USB memory sticks and smart phones

  • Finding and developing a strategy that fits your business in its regulatory context
  • Key parties to have involved, and at what point they should be engaged

  • Managing customer and prospect data compliantly and effectively
