The Workshops on Day 2 were more popular than ever, with several sessions filling up several weeks before the event. Topics on Day 2 included 'Developing Data Protection Policies', 'Data Security for Portable Media', and 'Data Protection in Marketing'. During the two days of the event, delegates had considerable opportunity for networking with the speakers and workshop leaders, as well as with the Data Protection Commissioner. The drinks reception on Day 1, sponsored by law firm Arthur Cox, attracted some very lively discussion. PDP would like to extend their congratulations to Billy Hawkes for being appointed to the post of Data Protection Commissioner for a further 5 years. We look forward to welcoming him back as keynote speaker at the 7th Annual Conference next year. The dates for next year's event will be announced in the coming weeks.
